So what am I trying to say here.... Thank you Facebook? Not exactly, but I am indeed thankful to have the tools I do to reach out to as many potential clients as I can. That's just my feel good story for the day. Nothing really to do about the main character of my business, but thanks for reading.

Sometimes I sit back and really think about how lucky I am to be a small business owner in the age of online social networking. I remember when I launched my first company website in 2009, it felt surreal to have a website. And when I think about that modest, simple HTML website and look at my current flashy, modern site now, I can't believe how much has changed since then. I was not even a Facebook member until 2009. A fellow vendor in the biz (you know who you are), convinced me that Facebook was the way to get my little flower business out there and she could not have been more right. When I get an email inquiry through my website, I always make a point to ask how they have found me. Often it is a referral from a past client (thanks ladies!) or a fellow vendor, but in just as many cases people tell me they found me on Facebook. Facebook has even introduced a new option called "insights" on business pages where it calculates based on the current people who "like" your page, how many potential other users could be exposed to your page. Based on my current "likes", I could potentially reach 80,000+ users. How could you ever accomplish this even 10 years ago?
